19 films sont en compétition pour la 65e Berlinale (5-15 février) et quatre autres sont hors-compétition: la sélection officielle est bouclée avec 21 avant-premières mondiales et des films venus de 29 pays (en comptant les coproductions). géographiquement, le Festival de Berlin fait la part belle à l'Asie et  l'Europe. Notons les films attendus de Wim Wenders, Werner Herzog, Pablo Larrain, Terrence Malick, le dernier Benoît Jacquot et le nouveau Jafar Panahi.
